PHOENIX (AP) - The Milwaukee Brewers and Dodgers cleared the benches Tuesday after Los Angeles pitcher Roman Colon punctuated a strikeout that ended the sixth inning with a fist pump.

There was no pushing and no punches were thrown. No players were ejected.

Colon escaped a jam by striking out Milwaukee’s Casey McGehee and pumping his fist. McGehee yelled at Colon and Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder came out of the dugout in his teammate’s defense.

Both benches and bullpens, including several Dodgers starters waiting just outside the left-field bullpen, emptied onto the grass between home plate and the mound.

McGehee and Colon, who both left the game after the scrum, spoke more calmly on their way to the clubhouses down the right-field line.
