Venezuela’s deceased president, Hugo Chavez, will remain forever on display to the public in a glass casket to be placed in the Museum of the Revolution.

Vice President Nicolas Maduro says the casket allows “his people [to] always have him,” The Associated Press reports.

The museum is located near the presidential palace that served as Mr. Chavez’s office for 14 years.

Mr. Chavez’s funeral is Friday, and at least 33 heads of state are expected to attend, AP reports. Tens of thousands have already filed past his glass casket to pay final respects. The body of Mr. Chavez will lie in state for seven days before it’s transferred to the Museum of the Revolution, AP reports.
