OCEANA, W.Va. (AP) - The Wyoming County Commission is funding the cleanup of an illegal dump site with sales of recyclable material recovered from another cleanup.

County Commissioner Silas Mullins tells The Register-Herald (https://bit.ly/1muV3Jm ) that the commission has been removing recyclable material from an illegal dump on Huff Mountain near Oceana for two years. He says selling the items has raised enough money to clean up a dump site on Basin Mountain.

Mullins says both cleanups are part of the county’s annual Make It Shine program.

The commission also plans to clean up two smaller illegal dump sites on Huff Mountain with assistance from the county’s Solid Waste Authority and Corrections Program.
