LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities have sealed off a corner of downtown Los Angeles as they hunt for a suspected kidnapper who ran into a building after a car chase.

Police Officer Nuria Vanegas tells City News Service that officers began chasing the man’s SUV at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday in the Boyle Heights area east of downtown.

The man drove to Broadway and 8th Street where he ran into a building.

So far, no evacuations have been called.

Vanegas says the man is believed to have been alone in the SUV. Police officials didn’t have any details about the kidnapping.
