PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (AP) - Singers Jeffrey Osborne and Smokey Robinson will be joined by several pro basketball greats at a golf tournament in Portsmouth that raises money for organizations that support music and the arts in public schools.

The third annual Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth.

Osborne, who is a Rhode Island native, is co-hosting the event with Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

Also expected to attend are former NBA legends Julius Erving and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; former New England Patriots quarterback Steve Grogan; former Boston Red Sox pitcher Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd; actor and comedian Sinbad; and others.

More than $300,000 has been distributed to Rhode Island non-profits through the event.
