CHICAGO (AP) - The Coast Guard says it has suspended its Lake Michigan search near Chicago for a man they say went missing after falling overboard from a disabled sailboat.

The Coast Guard says 54-year-old Daniel Brown disappeared after falling from the vessel named “Three’s Company” after a railing broke about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Brown’s hometown was not immediately available.

The Coast Guard says five other people aboard the boat saw Brown resurface once but lost sight of him while trying to throw him a floatation device.

Brown was not wearing a life jacket.

The sailboat was towed into a harbor.

Searchers using boats and a helicopter failed to locate the man Saturday night, and the search continued Sunday before being suspended.
