STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - The Red Cross is assisting about 50 people who were displaced after their tent at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip collapsed during a thunderstorm.

The organization says it is providing cots and blankets to those affected by Saturday’s storm. A group of volunteers on Sunday will determine whether additional services are needed.

More than 15 people are operating the Red Cross station at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Communications manager Michele Lewis says more than 140 people have received first aid services at the station. She says the Red Cross has served more than 7,600 cups of water so far.
