HONOLULU (AP) - State Rep. Mark Takai is the Democratic nominee for a Hawaii U.S. House seat representing urban Honolulu.

Takai was one of seven Democrats in a crowded primary field. They struggled to stand out in to replace U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa.

After winning Saturday’s primary, Takai will face former U.S. Rep. Charles Djou in the November general election.

Djou represented Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District for seven months from 2010 to 2011 after he won a three-way special election.
