KINGSTREE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a man they say shot at a state trooper during a traffic stop in Williamsburg County.

Deputies told local media outlets that the trooper pulled over 32-year-old Dwayne Brown around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Kingstree and asked him to get out of his car.

Investigators say Brown began to fight with the trooper and pulled out a gun and fired one shot that missed the officer.

Brown was able to run away. Deputies say he will be charged with attempted murder. They say he has ties to Williamsburg and Horry counties.

Authorities say the trooper was not injured.
