MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Want to start hunting but have never tried it?

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is holding a series of free seminars for new hunters.

The Hunter Education Course covers the basics of hunting. There are seminars in deer, bear, turkey and waterfowl hunting and hunting with a bow and arrow.

The classes take place throughout August and September.

Participants must register for the seminars, which are free and open to the public. No equipment is needed.

To register go the Fish & Wildlife Department website and select first-time hunting seminars.
