PALENVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a state parole officer fatally shot his estranged wife and her boyfriend inside her former upstate New York home, then committed suicide after police disabled his car during a chase on an interstate highway.
State police say troopers called to a home in the Greene County hamlet of Palenville Sunday afternoon found 51-year-old Daniel Brennan dead in the driveway from multiple gunshots. They found 49-year-old Pammi Mroczek’s (muh-ROH’-zehk) dead inside the home from gunshots.
Police say her husband, 46-year-old Robert Mroczek, had shot them both and fled. A trooper spotted his vehicle around 1:15 a.m. Monday on Interstate 81 north of Binghamton and gave pursuit.
The chase ended in Cortland County after troopers disabled his car with spike strips. Troopers say he killed himself with a gunshot to the head.
