FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - People visiting the Kentucky State Fair can learn more about the state’s health initiative and its health benefit exchange.

The information will be available at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ exhibit.

The exhibit will promote the strategies of Gov. Steve Beshear’s health initiative, which sets several health goals for the state.

Cabinet Secretary Audrey Tayse Haynes says visitors will be able to get health screenings aimed at promoting wellness.

The exhibit will also include experts who can answer questions about the state’s health benefit exchange.

The exchange, a key part of the federal Affordable Care Act, was launched last year. Since last Oct. 1, the exchange has helped more than 521,000 Kentuckians enroll in health-care coverage.

The state fair is Aug. 14-24 in Louisville.
