CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. (AP) - Police rescued three people from the roof of a burning home in Cliffside Park.

Officers arrived on the scene Monday to find three people standing near the driveway then they looked up and saw a man and a couple on the roof.

Officer Yakup Zoklu tells The Record (https://bit.ly/1rhWAV2 ) newspaper the officers didn’t even think, they just acted.

A neighbor put up a ladder and another ladder was already on the side of the home.

Officer Nick Franolic says you could see fear in their faces as smoke billowed out.

Six people were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
