WINTERPORT, Maine (AP) - A woman injured when her boyfriend’s car pinned her to a truck in the pit area of the Winterport Dragway over the weekend is expected to recover and no charges will be filed.

Authorities say 50-year-old Dale Harvey of Warren was hurt Saturday when her boyfriend was attempting to drive his vehicle onto a trailer and accidentally pinned her between the car and the truck attached to the trailer.

Jim Watson, president and owner of the track, says Harvey sustained a broken wrist, broken ribs, a leg puncture wound and burns from the car’s radiator. She remained in a Bangor hospital on Sunday.

State police say her boyfriend, 53-year-old Jay Lundevall, will not be charged.

Watson says race fans on Sunday collected $2,000 to help defray Harvey’s medical costs.
