ANGOLA, Ind. (AP) - A third northeastern Indiana man convicted in connection with the slaying of a Muncie man won’t have to serve any additional time behind bars.

The Herald Republican and WOWO report 19-year old Lucas Baxla of Fremont was sentenced Monday to 18 months, with one year suspended, for obstruction of justice. He admitted disposing of the gun that was used to shoot and kill Ruben Sanchez Jr. in July 2013 at Jimmerson Lake.

Because Baxla has already served 90 days, the equivalent of six months with credit for good behavior, he won’t have to serve any more time.

Twenty-eight-year old Mark Hines of Jimmerson Lake pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 45 years. Nineteen-year-old Tyler Biggs of Fremont was sentenced to 15 years for conspiracy to commit murder.
