JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A Canton alderman has filed a lawsuit against the city of Flowood and one of its police officers for a chase that left him injured.

Attorneys for Alderman Rodriquez Brown tell WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/1BbBY7L) that while officers were chasing two people on Interstate 220 in Jackson in March, the suspects’ vehicle hit Brown’s car.

Brown’s family met with Hinds County Supervisor Kenneth Stokes asking for answers on the crash they say could have taken Brown’s life.

Attorney Carlos Moore says the Flowood police officer had no right to perform duties in the city of Jackson and his client was injured because of that officer’s negligence.
