PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say at least six people have been rescued from vehicles that were stuck in flooded streets in Phoenix.

The monsoon storm that hit the Phoenix metropolitan area Tuesday evening caused flight delays at Sky Harbor Airport and knocked out power to at least 2,400 homes and businesses in Tempe.

There also are reports of some downed trees and light poles in Tempe.

The storm dumped up to 1 ½ inches of rain in Mesa and 2 inches of rain on parts of northwest Tucson.

It caused flash flooding in Saguaro National Park in Tucson, forcing the closure of some dirt roads.

The National Weather Service says a flash flood watch will be in effect for the Phoenix area and much of south-central and southwestern Arizona from through Wednesday morning.
