ATLANTA (AP) - Fulton County prosecutors say a convicted rapist has been given six life sentences plus 50 years in the kidnappings and rapes of two women.

District Attorney’s officials say 25-year-old Kendell Lawrence was found guilty of kidnapping, rape, aggravated sodomy, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Prosecutors say a 22-year-old woman was walking home on Old National Highway in December 2011 when she was approached from behind, blindfolded, forced into an SUV and eventually raped by two men. Prosecutors say the woman was forced to wash away evidence before being driven back to the area she was abducted from.

Prosecutors say a second victim was abducted from a nearby strip mall hours after the first attack.

Officials say Lawrence’s co-defendant will be tried separately.
