MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee police say they didn’t have to search far for a shooting suspect - they found him asleep in his car.

Police officers responded Monday afternoon to a report of shots fired from a car. A patrol officer who was nearby responded and soon found a man asleep in the passenger seat of the car.

Police said Tuesday that the officer could see the pistol in the car, and officers found three spent casings next to the car. The department says the 39-year-old man appeared intoxicated.

He has been arrested on tentative charges of endangering safety and operating a firearm while under the influence. The district attorney will decide whether to file formal charges.
