BOONVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Funeral services are set for the 20-year-old upstate man who died after being struck by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart’s car during a race at a dirt track in western New York.

According to Kevin Ward Jr.’s obituary on the Trainor Funeral Home website, calling hours will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Boonville in Oneida County.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at South Lewis Senior High School in Turin in neighboring Lewis County. Ward, a 2012 graduate of the school, lived in nearby Port Leyden.

Ward had gotten out of his car after it crashed during Saturday night’s sprint car race at Canandaigua Speedway. He was walking on the track when he was hit by Stewart’s car.
