LOCKE, N.Y. (AP) - Police have charged nine people in connection with the death of a central New York man who died from injuries suffered in a meth lab explosion three months ago.

Local media report that authorities say the charges stem from the May 12 explosion that set two buildings on fire in the southern Cayuga County town of Locke, in the Finger Lakes region 30 miles southwest of Syracuse.

Police say 47-year-old Shawn Perrault was cooking meth inside his mobile home when an explosion set the home and a nearby barn on fire. He died of his injuries nine days later. A 4-year-old child and two adults escaped injury.

The nine defendants, who range in age from 20 to 51, were arrested Tuesday. Four of them are related to Perrault.
