WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - A busy bridge on U.S. Highway 85 that crosses the Missouri River south of Williston is set to be closed for repair work Wednesday.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation announced the closure in a statement Tuesday. The bridge will be closed at 9 a.m. Wednesday and is expected to remain closed through the day.

The Department of Transportation suggests motorists cross the river near the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers about 25 miles southwest of Williston.

The affected stretch of U.S. Highway 85 links the oil patch cities of Watford City and Williston. The road sees heavy oil field traffic and delays are common.
