CASTAIC, Calif. (AP) - A possibly armed Southern California woman who barricaded herself inside her mobile home has ended a four-hour-long standoff with sheriff’s deputies.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Dubin says a 44-year-old woman who was walking Wednesday morning in a Castaic trailer park brandished a handgun and forced a stranger to drive her to her mobile home.

She left the car without harming the driver, who later alerted authorities to what happened.

Dubin says deputies arrived at the trailer park at around 10 a.m. and to try to persuade her to peacefully come outside. She did so around 2 p.m.

The woman has been detained for questioning and an investigation is under way.
