ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida man faces up to five years in prison for making threats against the president of the United States.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports that 40-year-old Jason Lynn Gay pleaded guilty Wednesday. His sentencing date wasn’t immediately set.

Authorities say Gay mailed a letter to the federal courthouse in Orlando in May 2013 threatening to kill the president, as well as an FBI agent. He also threatened to “blow up” the courthouse.

Federal agents interviewed Gay in June 2013 and again in January. Gay reportedly acknowledged writing the letter and reaffirmed his desire to kill the president. This led to an indictment in February.
