SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Nobody has been hurt in a fire that destroyed much of a vacant church in San Antonio.

Arson investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire before dawn Wednesday.

Authorities say some emergency medical personnel who happened to be driving by noticed the fire and summoned help. A small building attached to the church was also damaged by the fire that was brought under control in about an hour.

The site formerly was home to New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
