HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Both candidates for Pennsylvania governor are planning to try their hands at standup comedy.

Harrisburg radio station WITF reports (https://bit.ly/Y57CEH ) that Republican Gov. Tom Corbett and Democratic challenger Tom Wolf will be performing at candidates’ comedy nights on Wednesday in Pittsburgh and Thursday in Philadelphia.

Both events are nonpartisan charity fundraisers.

Stu Bykofsky, the Philadelphia Daily News columnist who founded the event in his city 24 years ago, says the event forces the candidate-comics to appeal to an audience “beyond the people who are paid to adore you.”
