WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Police say a township supervisor was struck and killed in a supermarket parking lot outside Philadelphia.

West Goshen Township Supervisor Robert S. White was hit by a pickup truck in the parking lot of a ShopRite in West Chester on Wednesday afternoon. Police say he was pronounced dead at Chester County Hospital.

White had been a township supervisor since 1992. He’s survived by his wife and two sons.

Police say the driver of the truck that hit White is cooperating. The truck also crashed into the supermarket, but there was no structural damage and the store remained open.
