PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Portland man accused of firing a gun from his car pleaded not guilty Wednesday to attempted murder and other charges.

Authorities say 18-year-old Deangelo Andersen-Smith was driving a green sedan Aug. 3 when he started shooting at the occupants of another vehicle, sending bystanders to the ground for cover. No injuries were reported.

Deputy district attorney Nathan Vasquez said an officer stopped the suspect vehicle and, after getting consent to search, found a handgun stuck between the driver and passenger seats.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/QimWb6 ) Andersen-Smith remains in custody in Multnomah County. He’s being held on total bail of $767,500.
