BRUCE, Miss. (AP) - Residents of the Calhoun County town of Bruce can once again drink from the water system.

WTVA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1r9ngfm) the Mississippi Department of Health has lifted a boil-water advisory that had been effect for a week.

State officials issued the boil advisory after two of the town’s three wells suffered mechanical failures that caused a loss of pressure in water lines.

Town officials say samples sent to the health department Monday and Tuesday showed the water was fit for consumption.
