TOWN OF WESTPORT, Wis. (AP) - A Waunakee man has been arrested on suspicion of eighth-offense intoxicated driving after deputies say he struck another vehicle, injuring its 80-year-old driver.

The Dane County sheriff’s office says the collision occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Westport.

Authorities say the 41-year-old suspect was northbound when his vehicle crossed over the grass median into oncoming traffic. He collided with another vehicle and then fled the scene on foot.

Deputies say he was found at home, where he was allegedly under the influence of intoxicants.

The 80-year-old driver was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
