BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a 29-year-old woman who was being held in a southeast Nebraska jail.

Jefferson County Sheriff Nels Sorensen tells KWBE radio that Keylee Gibbons was found unresponsive in her cell Wednesday morning.

Paramedics were called and Gibbons was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Gibbons had been arrested Tuesday evening on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs.

The Nebraska State Patrol will investigate her death, and a grand jury will review the situation as called for in state law.
