JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mayor Tony Yarber says he will announce two finalists Monday as Jackson seeks a new police chief.

Yarber tells WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/1rvtl1h ) that residents can meet and question the finalists at three public forums.

On Monday, forums will be held at noon at the Smith Robertson Museum and at 6:30 p.m. at Westside Community Center.

On Tuesday, a forum is planned for 6:30 p.m. at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Community Life Center.

Police Chief Lindsey Horton retired in July after 30 years with the department. Assistant Chief Lee Vance is serving as interim chief.
