GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - An eighth person has pleaded not guilty to charges involving the theft of at least 48 firearms taken in the burglary of a licensed federal firearms dealer’s home in Moss Point.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1oLGekm ) 24-year-old Damien O’Neil Towne waived the right to a detention hearing Wednesday at his arraignment in U.S. District Court.

He and seven others face charges in the theft of firearms, including machine guns, some of which were later found hidden at homes in Gautier.

The burglary occurred May 13 while the homeowner was out of town.

Towne has been held without bond since May 16 on unrelated charges of robbery and burglary.
