CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) - A woman whose car went off a Southern California road, killing her 7-year-old son and injuring two other people, has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and vehicular manslaughter.

The Ventura County Star (https://bit.ly/1rxro4l) says 33-year-old Latoya Najar of Camarillo remains jailed Thursday.

The California Highway Patrol says Najar, her three children and another adult were heading home from a day at the beach on Wednesday evening when the car veered off the Pacific Coast Highway near Point Mugu.

It hit a tree and concrete wall and overturned.

The CHP says it appears Najar’s 7-year-old son, Dillon Najar, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. He died at the scene.

Authorities say a 12-year-old boy broke his arm and a 33-year-old woman had multiple broken bones and facial injuries.
