ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police say more than 22,000 tickets were issued during a week-long effort to target speeders and aggressive drivers.

The agency says its summer “Speed Week” campaign also netted drunken drivers and motorists who were texting or using a phone while driving.

More than 10,000 of the tickets were for speeding. One man was ticketed and charged with reckless driving after he was caught driving his motorcycle 129 miles per hour on Interstate 87.

The campaign began Aug. 6 and ended Tuesday.
