GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - State transportation officials are going to show off a major new freeway interchange on the Phoenix area’s west side.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says people will be able to walk, jog, skate or bike under the elevated ramps that will soon carry automobile traffic on the interchange between the Loop 303 and Interstate 10 freeways in Goodyear.

The open house will be held between 7:30 and 11 a.m. Saturday along the new westbound I-10 frontage road built as part of the $145 million interchange project.

According to ADOT, people attending the event won’t be able to go onto the elevated ramp. They’re being asked to prepare for sunny conditions and to refrain from bring dogs or other pet.

The interchange is scheduled to open to traffic in September.
