MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis coach Josh Pastner says forward Dominic Woodson is transferring after one season with the Tigers.

Pastner announced Woodson’s decision Thursday.

The coach says Woodson is in good academic standing but wants a fresh start.

The 6-foot-10, 290-pound Woodson played in 20 games last season, missing six when suspended for cursing on the bench. He also did not travel with the Tigers to the NCAA tournament for a violation of team rules. Woodson averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

The Tigers are heading to Canada for a four-game exhibition tour that starts Friday.
