VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (AP) - A man is accused of renting out two Long Island homes that he didn’t own.

Nassau County police say Terrell Hill of Jamaica, Queens, has been arrested on charges of grand larceny and burglary.

Police say Hill put an ad on Craigslist and rented a Valley Stream home to two women on Aug. 8. They say he collected a down payment of $1,600 and returned Wednesday to collect more money.

Police also allege he rented out another unoccupied residence in Elmont on Aug. 1. They say he collected $3,800 from a woman in that case.

Hill was arraigned Thursday in Nassau District Court. He was released on $40,000 bail.

He is due back in court Monday.

His attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
