DETROIT (AP) - More than 1,500 Quicken Loans employees are helping clean up a neighborhood and school on Detroit’s west side.

The company’s 3-day project at Henderson Middle School and the surrounding 20 blocks will wrap up Friday.

The Detroit-based online retail mortgage lender is partnering with Life Remodeled on that organization’s Cody Rouge Neighborhood Project. Work will include landscaping, debris and trash removal, and mural painting.

Life Remodeled started work Monday making improvements to Cody High School as part of its six-day beautification project in the area. The nonprofit is gathering volunteers from neighborhoods, block clubs and churches to help.
