SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. (AP) - The 4th Fighter Wing from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will join with local authorities and first responders for a joint exercise.

The exercise begins Thursday and continues on Friday.

During the exercise, the 4th Fighter Wing says residents can expect smoke, the presence of emergency response vehicles and possible traffic congestion on and around the base.

The wing says the exercises are critical for its overall readiness to ensure the safety of the community, its airmen and their families.
