HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - Southaven’s parks director has been convicted of groping a woman last year.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1sFuAPw ) 66-year-old Michael Mullins was found guilty of simple assault Wednesday by Judge Allen Couch during a bench trial in DeSoto County Court.

Mullins was given a 10-day suspended sentence, five months unsupervised probation and told he cannot have any “intentional contact with the victim. He must also pay nearly $500 in court costs.

This was Mullins’ second hearing in the case. Last December, he was also found guilty of the misdemeanor charge by DeSoto County Justice Court Judge Brad Russell. Mullins appealed the judge’s ruling and the matter was moved to county court.

Police said the victim, a 49-year-old woman, worked in a sporting goods store in the city’s parks and recreation building.
