CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - Authorities in Alcorn County say a 16-year-old boy drowned in Hurricane Creek.

Sheriff Charles Rinehart tells WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/1sZdjQ6 ) that Brandon Harris was swimming with his brother in the creek between Corinth and Walnut around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Rinehart says Davis’ brother told investigators that Brandon Davis used a rope to swing into the creek.

Investigators say the teen surfaced briefly, then went under the water and didn’t come up.

The body was recovered around 5:30 p.m.
