TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a suspect is in custody in connection with a shooting in Tempe.

Tempe police say 23-year-old Jordan Corral is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault and endangerment.

They say Corral is suspected of shooting another man around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police responded to reports of a shooting and found a man with one gunshot wound in serious condition who was transported to the hospital.

Officers began searching the surrounding area for the shooter, who fled on foot.

Police say Corral was arrested less than a mile away after he approached officers and told them he was the shooter they were looking for.

The name of the man who was shot hasn’t been released. Police say he’s expected to survive.
