BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Billings fire officials say a woman has died in the hospital after she was rescued from a fire that started in her home.

Battalion Chief Terry Larson says the fire was reported at about 5 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters forced their way into the home.

A statement from the fire department says the fire damaged a bedroom and there was smoke damage throughout the house.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1AhvToQ ) the woman died later at Billings Clinic. Neither her name nor the cause of death has been released.
