TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A husband and wife are in the hospital following a collision on an Oklahoma turnpike.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man was driving a minivan eastbound on the Creek Turnpike when he realized he made a wrong turn and attempted an illegal u-turn. A Mustang man driving a tractor trailer was unable to stop before striking the minivan’s driver side. The man driving the minivan was flown to a Tulsa hospital and listed in critical condition. His wife was also taken to a Tulsa hospital and listed in serious but stable condition.

OHP says the driver of the tractor trailer received minor injuries. No names have been released and the OHP continues to investigate the accident.

The accident occurred shortly before 12 p.m. on Friday.
