SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - A San Francisco Bay Area nanny accused of molesting girls under his care and having them undress for a web camera has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Santa Clara County prosecutors say John Walker pleaded guilty to child molestation and child pornography charges in exchange for a 44-year prison term.

The deal was reached on Thursday, the first day of jury selection for Walker’s trial.

Prosecutor Clarissa Hamilton tells the San Jose Mercury News (https://bit.ly/1rdSS3y) Campbell was facing a potential life sentence with no chance of parole.

Hamilton says men would watch the girls undress on the other end of a video chat. The girls were between the ages of seven and 12.

Walker was arrested two years ago.
