HAMMOND, La. (AP) - Projects at the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport are in varying stages of completion, with the Air Traffic Control tower slated to be finished in October.

Airport Director Jason Ball tells The Daily Star (https://bit.ly/1sIOzx0) the airport recently received a visit from staff members from U.S. Sen. David Vitter and U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise offices to check out the tower.

Ball and airport board members toured the $1.9 million tower Thursday. The group climbed the spiraling staircase and entered the top level where air traffic controllers from the Louisiana Army National Guard will working.
