FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - A Larimer County jail deputy has resigned after he was charged with official oppression for allegedly using excessive force against an inmate.

The sheriff’s department says Simon Suarez resigned Friday after he was issued a summons. Official oppression is a misdemeanor.

No phone listing could be found for Suarez. He had been on administrative leave since an inmate filed a complaint on July 20.
