DENVER, N.C. (AP) - The body of a missing man has been found in Lake Norman, near the end of the road where he lived.

Sheriff David Carpenter tells local media outlets that neighbors found the body of 53-year-old Richard Terry Locklin just before 1 p.m. Thursday. Carpenter says that Locklin’s body was about 45 feet from shore, in six feet of water.

Authorities say Locklin was last seen on Wednesday night when he went jet skiing with friends on the lake.

Officials have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
