PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison in a wrong-way freeway crash that killed a New York woman last October.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 28-year-old Benjamin Charles Kuzelka also was sentenced Friday to five years of supervised probation after he serves his prison term.

Two months ago, he pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and aggravated assault in the case.

Kuzelka was arrested last November after being released from a hospital where he was treated for injuries from the Oct. 6 accident that killed Mary A. Boysman of Oswego, N.Y.

The 55-year-old Boysman was a passenger in an SUV that was struck head-on by a vehicle driving the wrong direction on State Route 51.

The driver of the SUV was seriously injured and hospitalized for days.
